Behold the Lamb

The Gospel of John shows us a unique moment in time—when heaven and earth collide in an extraordinary way. Where God the Father begins recreating His world through the life, death and resurrection of His Son. Where we, His people, are restored to our God and our humanity. It is the story of great hope—foreshadowing the day heaven and earth will reunite for good, and we will spend eternity dwelling with our God.

John the Baptist declares what John the apostle argues throughout his Gospel: Jesus is the Lamb of God that will defeat all sin.

SCRIPTURE: JOHN 1:29-34

The more discerning among them sensed something else was going on. Jesus spoke with authority but refused to take charge. He wielded extraordinary power, but never for himself. What was he up to?

MOVING FORWARD

God loved. God gave. We believe. We receive. Does that sound too simple? If so, it’s because Jesus de es our expectations. “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:17).

MLK 50

Race is no longer an issue that can be ignored. Mercy and love compel us to look into, not away from, what divides us. The Gospel is not just the answer of our individual sin problem, it’s the answer to our country’s systemic sin problem as well. Come join us as we experience MLK 50 happening live in Memphis and live at the farm via simulcast.

It begins April 3rd at 1 pm and goes into the evening; then starts up again the next morning at 9 am. Come and go or plan to stay over and bring some money for fast food runs.

See the World

Time

We tend to view our time the same way we view our money—we spend, invest, and waste it. The question is: how does God view time? If we saw it as he sees it, it might affect the way we use our own.

Andy walked us through Psalm 90 this week: a beautiful piece of ancient poetry recording the discourse between a man and God about the brevity, meaning of, and purpose to be discovered in, this life we’re given.

The prayer for the week was a simple one. “God, help me to see the world the way you do.”

That simple change of perspective could transform everything in our lives.

So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom.    Psalm 90
